The New York State Congress of Parents and Teachers, the first state branch of the National Congress, was founded in 1897. It coordinates statewide programs for children and youth, is represented on state committees, and provides resources on issues and leadership development. It serves units and councils through its 13 region PTAs.
Mission
The PTA is a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.
