The Rowland Theatre, built in 1917 in Philipsburg, PA, is a historic single-screen movie theater and venue for live events. Owned by the borough and operated by the nonprofit Rowland Theatre Inc. since 1991, it's maintained and preserved by community volunteers. The organization's primary purpose is the preservation and maintenance of the Rowland Theatre. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
Mission
The Rowland Theatre is Centre County's oldest operating movie theatre and venue for live events. This all-volunteer-run gem of downtown Philipsburg keeps arts and history alive, continuing a story that began in 1917.
