Rural Futures Fund, est. 2007, aims to raise aspirations of middle school students in Maine's rural communities. Founded from the estate of Emanuel and Pauline Lerner, the fund supports the Aspirations Incubator, a 6-year pilot program for 7th-12th graders. It focuses on mentoring and youth development to determine conditions for a successful aspiration-building model.
Mission
The Rural Futures Fund supports the Aspirations Incubator, a six-year pilot initiative designed to raise and sustain the postsecondary aspirations of students in Maine’s small cities and rural communities. They determine the conditions necessary to successfully launch a long-term aspiration-building model for students.
