The Saltaire Volunteer Fire Company, established in 1969, provides fire suppression and emergency medical services to Saltaire and neighboring Fire Island communities. As a not-for-profit, they're dedicated to serving neighbors with fire and EMS protection. They were the first Fire Island fire department to provide ambulance and EMS services in 1986.
