The San Carlos Foundation, founded in 1984, provides health and educational assistance to refugees and impoverished communities, particularly in Central America. They support volunteer doctors, lawyers, teachers, and other professionals who live and work in these communities, training locals to sustain their work. The foundation also supports community-based projects like health education in East Timor and after-school programs in Mexico.
