Sandy Ground Historical Society preserves the legacy of Sandy Ground, the oldest continuously inhabited free Black settlement in the U.S., a site on the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places. It offers educational programs and is a Program Site for the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. They share the story of Sandy Ground and its vital role in African American history.
