Offers incarcerated youth opportunities for growth and self-expression through classical music presentations and residencies. Teens collaborate with musicians and share music.

Presentations
One-hour classical music presentations where Sarasa performs, encourages teen input, and invites them to share their music.

Residencies
Three visits over one week involving performances, group singing, rhythmic exercises, and collaborative composition, culminating in a recording.

About
Sarasa, founded in 1997, is a collective of international musicians performing classical music from the 17th-21st centuries. They perform in New England, Ireland, Cuba & India. Sarasa's award-winning outreach program provides incarcerated teens in Boston opportunities for growth through music. The ensemble is named after Saraswathi Natarajan, an educational activist.
Mission
Founded in 1997, Sarasa Chamber Music Ensemble presents music from the 17th to 21st centuries, performed by a collective of instrumentalists and singers. They facilitate an award-winning outreach program with incarcerated teens in the greater Boston area.
