The Schenectady Permanent Firemen's Association serves its members and the community. Established in the early 1920s, they played a key role in funding a hospital for crippled children and continue to support Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital. The SPFA actively fundraises for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and participates in the United Way's annual fund drive.
