School Garden Project of Lane County, founded in 2001, empowers children through hands-on garden-based education. They provide resources, consultation, and programs to Lane County schools, increasing science knowledge, promoting healthy eating, and fostering environmental stewardship. Their programs include Science in the Garden, 4J BEST, and summer programming, reaching over 1,200 children annually.
Mission
We teach children science, the basics of growing food, and how to be good stewards of the earth using school and community gardens as outdoor classrooms. Supporting hands-on science leads to healthy habits.
