Scranton Public Theatre, founded in 1978, is dedicated to the professional development of arts in Northeastern PA. Its mission is to produce educational, original, and important dramatic and performing arts, stimulating creativity in the region. The theatre fosters a cultural atmosphere, raises cultural consciousness and encourages young people to write and act. They've produced 100s of productions and entertained audiences for over four decades.

Founded in 1978, Scranton Public Theatre is dedicated to the professional development of the arts in Northeastern PA, staging a major summertime theatre festival, productions dedicated to the telling of the region’s history, new playwrights projects, and successful productions in other cities.
