About
The Sheppard Military Affairs Committee (SMAC), founded in 2007, serves as a voice for Sheppard Air Force Base and North Texas. SMAC works to protect current missions and bring new opportunities to Sheppard by advocating for the base, communicating the valuable assets SAFB offers, requesting new infrastructure, showcasing area resources and highlighting the needs of military members. SMAC supports community events and strengthens the relationship between the base, military families, and the North Texas Community.
Mission
The Sheppard Military Affairs Committee serves as a voice for Sheppard Air Force Base and North Texas, working to protect current missions and bring new opportunities to Sheppard. SMAC representatives advocate and educate in support of SAFB to congressional delegations, state and local officials, and Headquarters Air Force to maintain and expand the base's capabilities.
