About
The Sherman Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1942, is an all-volunteer organization providing firefighting and ambulance services to Sherman, CT. Following major fires in 1941, a group of Sherman men transformed a farm truck into a fire truck to protect the town. In addition to emergency services, the department has a long history of community involvement, including putting on town celebrations and supporting residents.

The Sherman Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated and skilled volunteers committed to protecting the lives and property of the Sherman community, maintaining the highest level of preparedness and professionalism to respond effectively to any emergency.
