Mentor Programme
{Mentorship programme is designed to help teens find the career path that best suits them.}
Forensic Interviewing and Advocacy
Provides specialized interviews to gather information in a child-friendly setting, along with advocacy services to support children and families through the legal process.
Mental Health Services
Offers counseling services to child abuse survivors, as well as teen support groups and parent/caregiver support groups to promote healing and well-being.
Medical Services
Coordinates specialized medical exams for children who may have experienced abuse, ensuring their physical health and safety are addressed.

Shining Star Children's Advocacy Center, founded in 2004, transforms child abuse victims into survivors in Lee and Ogle counties, IL. They provide services for child abuse victims and their families, child forensic interviews, crisis and mental health counseling, court advocacy, and community child abuse awareness and prevention programs. They also have a Survivors Support Camp for girls who have been victims of child sexual abuse.
Mission
Shining Star Children's Advocacy Center transforms victims of child abuse into survivors. They envision reducing the trauma of child abuse through identification, offender accountability, advocacy, counseling, and education on the path to eliminating child abuse.
