About
Shoemaker Cooperative Association, founded in 1938 at Purdue University, provides low-cost cooperative housing for 39 women. Originally named Twin Pines, it was renamed to honor Dean Carolyn Shoemaker. The members run all aspects of the house, from finances to chores, fostering a community based on compassion, humility, sincerity, truth, honor and integrity.
Mission
Shoemaker Cooperative Association provides low-cost housing and reduces the cost of living for Purdue University students. Members manage all aspects of the house, from finances to cooking and cleaning, while also emphasizing excellence, philanthropy, and community engagement.
