Mentor Programme
{Mentorship programme is designed to help teens find the career path that best suits them.}
Chance to Dance
Provides twice-monthly ballet instruction to 3rd-5th graders at VOA LightHouse sites, culminating in a performance with SMB company members.
Scholarships & Financial Aid
Offers need-based and merit-based scholarships to assist young dancers with the cost of participation and to recognize outstanding talent.
School Performance
Provides free or low-cost performances to Caddo and Bossier Parish students, introducing them to classical ballet and enhancing their cultural experiences.
Outreach
Brings ballet to over 12,000 people each year, including free performances for students and educators. Includes programs like 'Chance to Dance' and 'School Performance'.

Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, founded in 1973, aims to educate the community in classical ballet, enhance cultural life with professional ballets, and provide opportunities for dancers. SMB presents two full-length ballets annually, including The Nutcracker, and offers training and performance opportunities to dancers, some of whom have gone on to dance with companies in other cities.
