The Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC), established in 1989, fosters engagement and enjoyment of visual, performing, and literary arts in the Smith Mountain Lake area. A non-profit since 1990, SMAC offers programs like Arts Camp for Kids, art shows, and the Junior Appalachian Musicians, inspiring creativity, building community, and making the arts accessible to all.

The Smith Mountain Arts Council brings together the arts and the communities surrounding Smith Mountain Lake. It fosters participation in and enjoyment of the visual, performing and literary arts and is committed to educational outreach.
