About
The Society of American Period Furniture Makers (SAPFM), founded in 2000, promotes the understanding, education, and appreciation of American period furniture. As a volunteer-run, non-profit, SAPFM assists furniture makers by locating resources and expertise. Members, including professionals, hobbyists, collectors, curators, and historians, learn by building furniture and developing skills like joinery, veneering, carving, and finishing through national/local events, workshops, publications, online resources and joint programs with museums.
Mission
The Society of American Period Furniture Makers promotes the understanding, education, and appreciation of American Period Furniture. They create a forum for education, encourage ethical practices, offer membership, assist with resource identification, and conduct public exhibitions.
