Spirit Wind Horse Rescue, founded in 2006 in Hotchkiss, CO, rescues, rehabilitates, trains, and rehomes at-risk horses. They focus on horses from local residents who can no longer care for them, as well as BLM mustangs. They have rescued over 300 horses, providing training for adoption or lifelong sanctuary. The organization relies on donations and volunteers.
Mission
Spirit Wind Horse Rescue has rescued, rehabilitated, trained and re-homed at least 300 at-risk horses since 2006. They care for as many as 50 horses at any given time, helping horses needing a second chance and saving the lives of these special equines.
