About
The Stoneham Historical Society, founded in 1922, is a volunteer-run 501(c)3 nonprofit. Its mission is to preserve local history through research, collection, archiving, and community engagement via programs and educational experiences. They operate from two historic buildings at 36 William Street: the Spanish War Hall, housing the museum and library, and the Doucette family ‘Ten Footer,’ a reminder of Stoneham’s shoemaking past.

The Stoneham Historical Society & Museum keeps history alive by researching, collecting, archiving, and sharing it with the community through engaging programs and educational experiences. They focus on gathering and telling stories of those often left out of history books.
