About
The Structural Stability Research Council (SSRC), est. 1944, advances research and education in steel and steel-concrete composite structure stability. Originally the Column Research Council, SSRC resolves design conflicts and addresses stability issues, impacting steel structure design provisions in the US and worldwide. Their work is detailed in publications by Johnston (1981), Galambos (2001), Ivanyi (2000), and Helwig (2019).
Mission
The Structural Stability Research Council provides a forum for evaluating structural stability aspects of metal and composite structures. They review global literature, guide research, promote publication, and develop design criteria for specification, code, and standard-writing bodies.
