The Suffolk County Probation Officers Association, founded in 1983, enhances professionalism among Probation Officers. As a fraternal organization and sole bargaining unit since 2004, they address employment conditions and supervise ~14,000 offenders. Members are peace officers involved in anti-gang initiatives, sex offender monitoring, and various task forces, dedicated to serving Suffolk County.
Mission
The Suffolk County Probation Officers Association enhances the professionalism of Probation Officers and provides union representation. They supervise offenders in the community, conduct investigations for the courts, monitor sex offenders, and participate in anti-gang initiatives, all while serving the citizens of Suffolk County.
