Sus Manos Gleaners, founded in 2008, engages the West Michigan community to dehydrate surplus produce for Christian missions. They transform discarded produce into nutritious soup mixes and fruit snacks, shipped in 55-gallon drums to populations facing food shortages. Each volunteer hour can yield 60 servings, costing about 10 cents each. This process preserves nutrients, simplifies shipping, and extends shelf life.
Mission
Sus Manos Gleaners engages the West Michigan community to supply and dehydrate excess produce. This produce is then used by Christian missions to feed hungry people in their overseas ministries, providing nutritious meals to those in need.
