The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1928, provides fire protection and emergency services to Ellington, CT, and surrounding areas. As an all-volunteer department, they respond to fire suppression, rescue, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents. They also offer fire prevention and education programs, including an Explorer Post in partnership with the Scouts BSA, aimed at educating youth about the fire service.
