Founded in 1989, The Friends of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum supports the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum and the Lightship Portsmouth Museum. They provide program and financial assistance, funding artifact restoration, new exhibits, artifact storage and acquisition, docent tours and a lecture series.
Mission
The Friends of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum promote, support, and encourage public interest in the programs of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum and the Lightship Portsmouth Museum through service, contributions, and educational programming.
