About
The Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1881, is a 100% volunteer-operated organization providing fire protection and emergency response to the Thomaston, CT community. Members train weekly and the department sponsors a Cadet Corps for youth (ages 12-18). They respond to approximately 300 calls per year and offer mutual aid to surrounding communities. The Ladies Auxiliary provides support for department activities.
Mission
The Thomaston Fire Department is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment from fires, emergencies, and hazards. They actively involve the community through outreach and maintain readiness through continuous training and equipment maintenance, demonstrating a commitment to serving Thomaston.
