The University of Michigan Skilled Trades Union, founded in 1987, represents over 450 skilled trades workers across 30 trade classifications at the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses and Michigan Medicine. It serves its members through negotiating and enforcing their labor contract with the University.
Mission
The University of Michigan Skilled Trades Union represents 30 trade classifications, with a membership of nearly 500 skilled trades workers. Founded in 1967, the union works with the University of Michigan to represent its members in obtaining the best wages, hours, and conditions of employment.
