About
Uptown Entertainment & Development Corp (UEDC), est. 1995, is committed to revitalizing underserved communities in Philadelphia. Their primary project is the renovation of the historic Uptown Theater into an entertainment venue and museum dedicated to Black music. UEDC aims to provide jobs, education, and housing services to the community. They are also developing a technology center and commercial leasing space.
Mission
The Uptown Entertainment & Development Corporation revitalizes underserved communities by providing jobs, education, and housing services. Their first project is the renovation of the Historic Uptown Theater, aiming to restore a cultural landmark and economic driver for the community.
