The Utica Volunteer Emergency Squad (UEMS) was comprised of paid-staff and volunteer members. It provided emergency medical care for the Village of Utica, Washington Township, and Morgan Township. UEMS joined with Utica Volunteer Fire Department to create the County Line Joint Fire District, responding to over 1,000 911 calls annually.
