About
The Valley Baseball League, dating back to 1897 and evolving to an NCAA-sanctioned league in 1961, is a collegiate summer league in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Funded partly by MLB, it transitioned to not-for-profit status in 2011. With wooden bats since 1993, 12 teams compete in a 44-game schedule. It has produced over 1,000 professional players, with numerous alumni drafted into Major League Baseball.
