The Nebraska Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., founded in 1968, serves veterans, military families, and local communities. With roots tracing back to 1899, the VFW strives to support veterans and their families. Programs include Americanism, community service, veteran outreach, scholarships, and more. The VFW has been instrumental in establishing the Veterans Administration, creating GI Bills, developing the national cemetery system, and fighting for veterans' rights.
