The VFW Department of Ohio, tracing its roots to 1899, supports veterans by securing their rights and benefits. Formed after the Spanish-American War, it grew rapidly, advocating for veterans' healthcare, pensions, and education (GI Bill). The VFW also supports memorials and contributes millions of volunteer hours annually, providing scholarships and community service.
