The VFW Department of Connecticut, established in 1962, is the state division of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the largest and oldest war veterans service organization in America. Its mission is to foster camaraderie among veterans of overseas conflicts, serve veterans, the military, and communities, and advocate for all veterans. The VFW offers assistance programs, scholarships, and emergency financial relief. They support troops, youth education and sponsor community initiatives. VFW's voice was key in establishing the Veterans Administration and advocating for veterans' rights.
