VFW Connecticut, founded in 1962, fosters camaraderie among veterans of overseas conflicts, serves veterans, the military, and communities, and advocates for all veterans. They support youth through scout, teacher, and scholarship programs and offer troop support and community initiatives.

The VFW's mission is to preserve comradeship, assist veterans and their families, perpetuate the memory of our dead, maintain allegiance to the U.S. government, foster patriotism, and preserve American freedom.
