The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Dept of Washington, founded in 1981, is a nonprofit service organization for eligible veterans and military service members. They secure rights and benefits for veterans, supporting them and their families. The VFW has been instrumental in establishing the Veterans Administration and advocating for veterans' healthcare and education, including the GI Bill.
