About
The Village Improvement Society of Saranac Lake, founded in 1910, is dedicated to village beautification. A volunteer-run, not-for-profit, VIS owns and maintains parks and plants flowers, enhancing community green spaces. Originally formed by local women to realize the Olmsted Brothers' vision, it now welcomes all. VIS relies on volunteers and donations.
Mission
The Saranac Lake Village Improvement Society enhances the beauty of the community and maintains green spaces for everyone to enjoy. They are dedicated to preserving parks for future generations.
