Young Artists Philharmonic (YAP)
A full symphony orchestra performing advanced orchestral literature for experienced young musicians.

Young String Ensemble (YSE)
Introduces beginning musicians to ensemble and string techniques.

Flute Choir
Explores music written and arranged for multiple flutes, allowing YAP flute players to perform challenging repertoire.

Woodwind/Brass Ensemble
Develops technique and musicianship needed for performing music written exclusively for winds and brass.

Chamber Music
Develops listening, collaborative, and interpretative skills in a small-ensemble setting for strings, piano, woodwinds, and brass.

Instrument Petting Zoo
Provides children with their first interaction with stringed instruments through touching, learning, seeing, and hearing.

Starfish Connection
Offers an Instrument Petting Zoo to students ready to select a musical instrument, demonstrated by advanced YAP students.

Music in the Schools
Collaborates with schools by providing teaching artists for rehearsals, guest performances, and enrichment seminars.

The Young Artists Philharmonic, founded in the late 1950s, has been educating young musicians from Connecticut and Westchester for over 50 years. Its mission is to educate, enrich, and inspire young people through music, fostering self-discipline, teamwork, and character. Alumni have become Grammy winners and leaders in various fields. YAP partners with local organizations and has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall.

The Young Artists Philharmonic educates, enriches and inspires young people through the transformative power and beauty of classical music, providing world-class musical training in Fairfield and Westchester counties.
