Founded in San Francisco in 1883, the Young Men's Institute (YMI) is a Catholic men's fraternal organization dedicated to the moral, intellectual, and social betterment of its members. With a mission to provide mutual aid, promote goodwill, and foster devotion to the Catholic Church and loyalty to the country, YMI engages in education and activities aligned with its motto: Pro Deo, Pro Patria – For God, For Country.
Mission
The Young Men's Institute enhances the Catholic faith for families and fosters social, moral, and intellectual improvement. They support underprivileged individuals through food baskets, scholarships to students, and toy distribution.
