The Beta Cell Foundation is dedicated to advancing research and education to find a cure for type 1 diabetes, supporting those affected by the disease through innovative programs and community engagement.

Great news! You are one of our lottery winners for the T1Ds in the Wild trip to Pinnacles National Park next month! T1Ds in the Wild: Pinnacles National Park

T1Ds In The Wild: Hiking Meetup&nbsp;This event brings people living with Type 1 Diabetes together for a relaxed trail walk and good conversation! Hosted by the Beta Cell Foundation, this meetup is a chance to swap practical tips on diabetes management, share personal experiences, and enjoy time outdoors with others who understand. Having Type 1 Diabetes brings unique challenges that can make the outdoors even more intimidating. Doing it together means none of us have to figure it out alone. As always, this is a no-judgment space. Take the breaks you need and lean on the group - we stay together at all times.&nbsp; Experience level: Open to all fitness levels. This is a great one for folks newer to hiking as well as seasoned adventurers. The terrain is manageable but the distance means it&#39;s still a solid effort. This is a gently graded, mostly shaded out-and-back trail that follows the creek through the foothills, with several shallow water crossings along the way. The payoff at the end: an 81-foot dam with a waterfall cascading over it, a great spot to rest, refuel, and take photos before heading back. Beta Cell Foundation is rebuilding that: scaffolded courses, interactive tools, training for the organizations already doing the teaching, and small-group programs where people practice in real conditions. All of it designed by people living with type 1, and free for the people who need it. Thank you for helping make it exist.
