Blooming Boulevards uses locally sourced seeds whenever possible. We collect seeds from native herbaceous perennial species that work well when creating pollinator habitat gardens. These species are adapted to our local climate and soil conditions and, over thousands of years, evolved in tandem with native wildlife, including native bees and other pollinators. Together, they will create a mutually supportive ecological community - right in your garden! Fresh viable seeds are collected within the past two years, gathered in late summer/fall when they mature. They should be stored cool and dry in a sealed container until ready to be stratified in the fridge or sown in containers outdoors over the winter.
