Slow Fashion Runways | Slow Fashion Week 2026

Kick off Brighton Fashion Week with an evening celebrating sustainable fashion, local creativity and community. Meet this year&#39;s runway designers, connect with fellow creatives. Whether you&#39;re a designer, maker, student, fashion lover or simply curious about sustainable fashion, everyone is welcome. Expect great conversations, inspiring people and a fashion show featuring local sustainable designers and students in one of Brighton&#39;s most creative independent spaces. Open to all ages. Slow Fashion Week Launch Party

What does it mean to dress for another time? Can clothing change our relationship with history? And what might Regency tailoring have to tell us about the way we dress today?&nbsp; Zack Pinsent is a Regency tailor who doesn&#39;t wear or own any modern clothes.The Regency was a brief and extraordinary period of British history, spanning the years around the beginning of the nineteenth century, when elaborate tailoring, extravagant dress and rigid ideas about appearance sat alongside a rapidly changing society. More than two centuries later, Zack has made the clothes, crafts and aesthetics of this period part of his everyday life. In a collaboration between Exploding Appendix and Brighton Slow Fashion Week, we will be interviewing Zack about clothing, craft, history and identity, and what happens when an historical aesthetic becomes a way of life. We&#39;ll also explore what his approach to making, wearing, maintaining and valuing clothes might tell us about sustainability and our own relationship with fashion.

Make your own patches at this workshop run by <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.trouserproject.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopRRQIIs_5q_L_bQSpMQFNy61_qdZXWrI49ml8wDU8uBDnklygp" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Trouser Project</a>&rsquo;s Megan Lewis.&nbsp; Learn how to upcycle your old clothes, cover stains and bring new life to unloved garments by creating your own funky reworked patches using a few different textile techniques. The workshop will have different stations where you can appliqu&eacute;, sashiko stitching, hand painting, stamping and airbrush, so you can experiment, combine and play. This workshop is beginner-friendly, and all tools will be provided. Come along for an easy, accessible and fun way to rework clothing!&nbsp;

Funky Patch Repair Workshop

Mending, remaking and reimagining fashion beyond waste. The fashion industry is at a tipping point. We&#39;ve never consumed more, wasted more, nor become so disconnected from the true value of our clothes. Hosted by Plus X Innovation in partnership with the Brighton Fashion Collective, we&#39;re delighted to present our third annual Slow Fashion Week event. With an incredible line-up of industry experts, we&rsquo;ll explore how brands of all sizes can move beyond the traditional take&ndash;make&ndash;dispose model, embrace circular thinking and create the innovations needed for a more resilient fashion future.This event brings together founders, brands, designers and changemakers who are rewriting the future of fashion, one where waste is designed out, materials stay in circulation, and creativity replaces consumption. No greenwashing. No guilt trips. Just big ideas, brilliant people, and pulling the thread on an industry that needs to pull its socks up.

I’ve Got 99 Problems But a Stitch Ain’t One!

Join award-winning author and journalist Tansy Hoskins for the Brighton launch of Charity Shop World: An Investigation into Community, Consumption and Waste.&nbsp; Through four years of research, Tansy uncovers the surprising stories hidden inside Britain&#39;s charity shops, exploring community, consumption, textile waste and the people navigating the realities of the cost of living crisis. The evening will include a conversation, audience Q&amp;A and book signing.

Bring along your pre-loved clothes for the biggest clothes swap in our calendar!&nbsp;Book an hourly time-slot to browse rails on rails of pre-loved pieces in a range of inclusive styles and sizes at your own pace. Our focus is on slow, mindful swapping, with time to try on pieces too.&nbsp; Bring up to five pre-loved garments that are freshly laundered and in excellent condition. Upon arrival, each garment will be graded and you&rsquo;ll get tokens to spend at the swap.&nbsp; Please note we will only accept adult-sized clothing at this swap. The Slow Clothes Swap

Closing out Slow Fashion Week 2026, our flagship event at Brighton Dome is a celebration of slow, ethical and sustainable fashion. Find something special at the marketplace, swap old clothes for new (to you) at The Slow Clothes Swap, drop-in to the Sew Fabulous Creative Studio, and watch some of the city&rsquo;s most exciting designers show their work on the runways.&nbsp; Entry to this year&rsquo;s event is free* and open to all ages.&nbsp; *The Slow Clothes swap is ticketed at &pound;6, with a &pound;3 low-wage ticket option.&nbsp;
