Join us for the CVAMS Brunch for a CAUSE 🍽️&mdash; bringing together healthcare professionals, partners, and community members to support Cabo Verdean health at home and abroad. Invite only event. Come kick off the Cabo Verdean Independence Day celebration with delicious food, drinks, and fellowship. Your participation helps fund cancer screening and diagnosis in Cabo Verde. 🌍&nbsp; Individual tickets are $100/each, or reserve a table of 10 for a discounted price of $900.&nbsp;Please note: Zeffy is a 100% free fundraising platform for nonprofits. Join us for the Annual CVAMS Conference, &quot;Morabeza in Action&quot; 🎓🌍 This gathering brings together Cabo Verdean and allied healthcare professionals to share practical tools, research, and lived experience focused on the health of Cabo Verdean communities in the U.S. and Cabo Verde. The cost is $75 for health professionals and free for students and community members.&nbsp;PLEASE NOTE BEFORE CHECKOUT:&nbsp;Zeffy automatically suggests an optional contribution to Zeffy in order to keep it free for non-profits. This year&#39;s conference theme is &quot;Morabeza in Action: Bridging Community with Medicine&quot; and will feature panel discussions spanning the lifespan of Cabo Verdeans. Themes include:<ol fr-original-style="text-align: start;" id="isPasted" style="text-align: start; width: 100%; box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Facilitate synergy and collaboration among Cabo Verdean American organizations doing community-based work.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Highlight programs, interventions, and community-driven initiatives that address the distinct health needs of Cabo Verdean individuals at every stage of life.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Create space for honest dialogue about the stigmas surrounding mental health, substance use, domestic violence, and other sensitive health issues that disproportionately affect Cabo Verdean communities.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Strengthen connections among Cabo Verdean communities in the United States, Cabo Verde, and beyond by fostering a shared sense of identity, purpose, and collective responsibility for community health.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Foster research collaboration and knowledge exchange between the diaspora and Cabo Verde and facilitate networking and partnership-building opportunities between researchers, institutions, and practitioners.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Amplify voices from the Global South in academic and policy discourse and provide a platform for scholars, clinicians, and community leaders from Cabo Verde and the diaspora to share their work and perspectives.</li></ol>By registering, you help advance our mission to expand medical assistance, strengthen health education, and build a reliable network of clinicians committed to addressing real, everyday health challenges our community faces. There will be a research symposium on Friday and the full conference program on Saturday. Full program and details will be forthcoming.

This celebratory evening will include dinner, live entertainment from internationally renowned CaboVerdean artists, a silent auction, and special surprises as we gather to celebrate CVAMS&rsquo;s mission and impact. CVAMS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public health, medical education, mentorship, research, and healthcare access for Cabo Verdean communities in the United States and Cabo Verde. Through medical missions, clinical training, specialty care initiatives, student support, community health programming, and donations of medical supplies and equipment, CVAMS continues to strengthen connections between healthcare professionals, institutions, students, and the communities we serve.
