Why Your Support MattersFor more than 90 years, Camp Hermosa has been a place where children build friendships, grow in confidence, and deepen their relationship with God. The Alina Carere Bowlathon funds our Bursary Program, ensuring that families facing financial hardship can still send their children to camp. Alina’s story is at the heart of this mission. She grew up at Camp Hermosa, returning year after year as a camper, then as a Leader-in-Training, and eventually as a cabin leader. Her joy, compassion, and willingness to laugh, sing, and be fully herself touched everyone around her—especially the children she cared for.In 2009, the first Bowlathon was held, with Alina leading as top fundraiser. Tragically, later that year, she lost her life in a car accident. Her legacy lives on through this event and the countless children whose lives are changed because of it. When you donate, you help provide the camp experience Alina believed every child deserved. 100% of your gift goes directly to sending kids to camp. Please share this campaign with others who believe in the power of community, compassion, and camp. For more information about the Bowlathon, reach out to Natalie Carere—we would love to hear from you.
