The Crested Butte Klunker Collection preserves and celebrates vintage mountain biking culture by supporting a museum exhibit in Crested Butte, CO and an annual event, the Pearl Pass Klunker Tour, this year celebrating 50 years of stories!

The first tour happened in 1976 when a group of Crested Butte rowdies pedaled and pushed their one-speed klunkers over the 12,705 ft. pass and on into Aspen. It is not an easy ride. We start at 8888’  and camp at 10,000’. The Pass is at 12,705’. Join the Sweetheart Society

Ride back to where mountain biking began&nbsp;by joining our 50th Annual Tour. This event brings together vintage bikes, long‑time locals, and weird enthusiasts to reenact one of the pivotal weekends of mountain biking history. Your registration helps us preserve and share the roots of mountain biking&mdash;through restored bikes, tall tales, and the furtherance of important traditions that keep this history alive for the next generation.&nbsp; This Tour is for expert cyclists in peak physical condition. It might look like fun, but having this much fun at altitude is arduous work. If you plan on attending, be prepared for two days of entirely self supported backcountry hike-a-bike.&nbsp; Due to the high interest in this years tour and the nature of having special events in a national forest, attendance is limited to those who register and attendance is capped in accordance with forest service rules. IF YOU PLAN ON CAMPING OUT, YOU MUST REGISTER. If you only plan on a one day ride over the top or an out and back, of course you may attend, but you must be doubly prepared to be entirely self supported.&nbsp; Registration includes SAG wagons to camp and back to Crested Butte for your camping gear and Dinner, Breakfast and assorted sundries by Rim Tours. &nbsp;LIMITED SHUTTLE SPACE IS AVAILABLE FROM ASPEN ON THE EVENING OF SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 13.&nbsp;
