Right now, families in Malawi are waking up to waist-high water. Children are missing. Crops are gone. Homes destroyed. Between 15&ndash;18 March, four days of torrential rainfall devastated communities across 16 districts. 13 people have died. 9,598 households have been affected. 128 families have been displaced. And more rain is forecast. The world hasn&#39;t noticed. There has been zero UK media coverage. We have. EmbraceAbility works directly in Phalombe, Malawi,one of the hardest-hit regions. Our team is already on the ground, collecting disaster relief data and assessing the damage to the communities we serve. We are focusing on what others too often overlook: disabled people. People with disabilities are up to 4 times more likely to die in disasters. They face evacuation barriers, loss of essential equipment, destroyed accessible toilets and water pumps, and are routinely left out of formal aid responses. We are determined that will not happen here. Your donation will go directly to: &bull; Repairing damaged toilets, water pumps and mobility aids&bull; Emergency food relief for disabled households&bull; Disability-inclusive aid assessment across affected areas&bull; Filling the gaps left by overstretched government and UN agencies We are a small organisation.
