Yet Jesus promised his followers that it would be better for us if he left, because the Holy Spirit would then come. In a church culture that either over-emphasizes the Holy Spirit to the detriment of human involvement and agency, or de-emphasizes the Holy Spirit as an overcorrection, how can we more accurately understand, view, and experience the Holy Spirit&rsquo;s role in disciplemaking? &nbsp; Lee Davis, Senior Pastor of Berlin Church, is a wise and faithful servant, committed disciplemaker, and longtime friend of the Columbus Discipleship Network. This training focuses on sharing the hope of the gospel with students in clear, practical ways, and lunch will be provided. 🍽️ Not Beyond Reach is a 2.5 hour seminar led by Steiger International, that takes an honest look at the cultural forces pulling Gen Z away from Jesus, and invites us to respond not with anxiety or arguments, but with broken hearts, genuine friendship, creativity, and prayer. Through real conversation, guided reflection, and practical tools, we&#39;ll explore what it actually looks like to be a faithful presence in the lives of the next generation. Kingdom Focus in a Partisan AgeResisting Political Hyper-Polarization in Favor of the Way of Jesus When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, one of the key lines of seduction was to entice Jesus toward political power. After all, wouldn&rsquo;t the world be better with Jesus in charge? Couldn&rsquo;t he do so much good? Similarly, his own followers wanted to crown him king. But Jesus resisted Satan from without and his followers from within, never wavering that his Kingdom is not of this world. Yet our culture has never been more politically polarized, anxious, and driven to extremes by algorithms which benefit from our attention, and not from our cooperation. How can we be politically engaged without looking toward political religiosity, whether that&rsquo;s devotion to the right or the left? How can we uphold kingdom causes in kingdom ways? &nbsp; Gerald Murphy, Senior Pastor of Garden City Church, leads a diverse congregation from a myriad of backgrounds into thriving fellowship and deep discipleship. Relational Apologetics&nbsp;The Message, and the Messenger&nbsp; Our culture used to ask questions about the objective evidence for the existence of God; now we are more likely to get questions about whether or not Christianity works. Does it affect real people with real lives? Does it actually change people? And how? Does it address the problems of human life? Does it provide tangible hope? Christians, in view of the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission, understand that the message must be both proclaimed and demonstrated, embodying the grace and mercy and holiness of God in such a way that glorifies God. This can be reflected in our ministry practices and programs&hellip;or it can impact that upcoming breakfast meeting with a friend. This topic will call us to embody the message on our best days and our worst days, and challenge us be intentional with people as we reflect the message in all of life. Jason Seiple, Founder of Parable Project and Director of Youth and Youth Mission at Christian Assembly, lives these questions everyday in his youth-focused ministries. Imagination &amp; Inspiration in Disciplemaking Shane Tucker, beloved Director of Networks at For Columbus, recently earned his Masters degree from Durham University, UK (via CMS, Oxford) in Theology, Ministry &amp; Missions. The focus of his thesis was on the role Imagination plays in our Formation and Vocation, and how the Arts inspire this process.
