Friends of the Beardsley & Memorial Library supports literacy and community engagement by enhancing library services, organizing events, and providing resources that foster a love for reading and learning in the community.

Entertainment by the Murder Mystery Co! Seen on "Shark Tank." Join the Friends of the Beardsley Library for an evening of suspense and intrigue! Date: Saturday October 4, 2025 | 6-9:30PMVenue: The Laurel Room at Whiting Mills100 Whiting Street, Winsted Tickets: $100 per person (includes buffet, dessert and show)Limited availability - secure your tickets early! No door sales.Must be 18+ attend. Event Highlights:6:00 p.m. - Arrive to mingle and indulge in artfully crafted hors d'oeuvres curated by Catering by Gia and a signature cocktail, beer & wine cash bar catered by Poured by Lily 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Enjoy the interactive show presented by professional actors from The Murder Mystery Company and solve the crime 9:00 - 9:30 p.m. - Awards for the most astute sleuths and delightful dessert to conclude the evening Masquerade inspired attire is encouraged so feel free to dress in your best Venetian masks, ball gowns and dapper tuxedo suits. We can't wait to have a "killer" time with you! Every registration to this event will bring us closer to achieving our mission to support the Beardsley Library. Midnight at the Masquerade - Murder Mystery Event

The Friends of the Library is a separate 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to the development and maintenance of an association of library supporters to heighten awareness of library services and facilities.  The Friends provide supplemental funding to sponsor and support the library and programs that further library objectives.   The Friends sponsor the Book Nook, where donated books are sold and profits are used to help the library.
