Greek Community Of Toronto

The Greek Community of Toronto fosters cultural heritage and spiritual growth through community engagement, support for the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Cathedral, and celebration of Greek traditions, ensuring a vibrant future for generations to come.

For sixty-five years, the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral has been a spiritual home for many in Toronto. We invite you to join us for an evening of celebration as we mark this historic Sapphire Anniversary. This year, our celebration carries an important purpose. All proceeds from the gala will be dedicated to the completion of the iconography of the Pantocrator within our Great Dome. By attending, you are not just joining a dinner; you are helping us finalize the spiritual "crown" of our Cathedral, ensuring that future generations look up to see the fullness of our faith in vibrant color. Your presence and your support are invaluable and we look forward to your participation at the event! Xristos Anesti! Fr. Peter Avgeropoulos & the 65th Gala Organizing Committee

Panagia - Toronto 65th Anniversary Gala - Parkview Manor

After the devastating fire in 2000, our Church of Panagia was given the opportunity to rebuild our Cathedral according to the more traditional Byzantine style architecture that is traditional for all Orthodox churches. A key feature of this architectural plan is the Grand Dome that represents Heaven. The Icon of Christ AlMighty - The Pantocrator - is traditionally placed in the Dome to represent Christ overseeing and protecting his people. This will be the crowning jewel of our Cathedral and it is for this reason that all proceeds from the 65th Gala are earmarked for this purpose. We invite you to participate by donating towards this purpose.
