LXCL:The Legacy Community Board works to create spaces that unite families, community, and alumni to build lasting legacies for our borough and beyond through play!

Legacy Park DIY Weekend brings families, neighbors, and alumni together to support Jenkintown students and the community at large. We will be adding in various DIY elements to the old castle area to bring another area of play to the park. The playground construction and landwork is being overseen by Kompan.&nbsp; Please sign up for any DIY elements that you&#39;re interested in. We look forward to standing next to new friends and watching children enjoy the playground we worked so hard to build. Everyone involved will have a sense ofownership and accomplishment. This amazing effort was funded by and quite literally built by Jenkintown residents. Unfortunately in early 2025, the play structure was deemed unsafe by current standards and the school had to close off the playground eliminating one of the few outdoor play areas we have available to us in town. Within a few weeks a group of dedicated volunteers began to raise the funds necessary to design, contract, and build a new playground. That's where you come in! This is a monumental task that is projected to take place over the next two years. We are estimating the final costs to be around 2.5 million. Grants will not be enough, we are hoping our local community can band together once again to finance the new playground and help create a new playground just as iconic as the castle we once had. Any amount is a step in the right direction. Thank you for helping create new play spaces for the kids of Jenkintown.
