Help Great Dismal Robotics Compete This Season! 🤖Kalamoo’s FTC team, Great Dismal Robotics #31251, is back for its second season! Our high school students design, build, and program competition robots alongside mentors, local businesses, and community partners. In their first season, they won 2nd Place awards in both Sustainability and Robot Design. This year, the team needs to raise $5,000 to cover equipment, supplies, and competition costs as they prepare for meets in December and January. Practices are open to the community at Suffolk Public Library, so come cheer them on! Your gift goes directly to Great Dismal Robotics ✨ It helps our students build robots, compete with confidence, and represent Suffolk on the FIRST Tech Challenge stage. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Our teams are designing and programming robots, building Innovation Projects, and learning teamwork through FIRST Core Values. Several are even studying Python to sharpen their skills. Last season, our youngest team won Best Overall at Regionals and advanced to the State Championship. For the past few years, Kalamoo’s teams have been the only Suffolk teams at FIRST competitions, and we’re on a mission to change that. Each team needs about $1,200 to compete this season, covering registration, robot kits, and materials. Teams that advance to State in Charlottesville need about $1,500 more for registration, lodging, and travel. Every gift, big or small, helps a young person discover what they’re capable of. Thank you for cheering them on!
