Darryl Tracy&#39;s Class Description:Darryl&#39;s Movement/Dance Class is a physical and sensorial adventure taking all participants from an internal landscape into building physical task-based relationships with gravity, with space, with music and musicality - &nbsp;and - challenging habits and tendencies. Darryl facilitates the class to give participants permission to explore within ones comfort level (all abilities welcome). Participants will have set exercises and also facilitated improvisational scores. The class explores agility, coordination, articulation, expressivity, and sensory awareness. Discovery and fun are at the heart of the class.

You are invited to&nbsp;layers of kin open rehearsal. Get a sneak peek into the creative process of choreographer Angela Vitovec! This is an exclusive invite from Toronto Dance Theatre that Moonhorse is honoured to extend to you as a Dance Encounters attendee. layers of kin&nbsp;invites you into an imperial space overtaken by plant life, where movement, sound, and space emerge beyond human logic. In layers of kin, performers move in kinship with moss, yarrow, clover, and oak to explore the connection between humans and the more-than-human world. Unfolding in close proximity to the audience, the choreography emphasizes attentiveness and shared presence, allowing movement, sound, and space to shape the performance in real time. The work favours quiet accumulation over spectacle, revealing patterns of connection, resilience, and coexistence as the dancers move together across the space, creating a post-imperial ballroom utopia. Choreographed by Angela Vitovec and co-presented and co-produced by Toronto Dance Theatre, the piece continues Vitovec&rsquo;s exploration of plant consciousness and interdependence, following earlier works Sammal/Moss and Mossbelly. This class focuses on alignment, body/brain integration, breath, voice, coordination, spatial awareness and rhythm. Combining these tools, you will learn simple choreographic variations and play with improvisational physical and vocal scores. Designed for performers and non-performers alike, this class offers a trusting, non-judgmental and dynamic environment for movers to work at their own level. Bee&#39;s Class Description:Bee Pallomina uses Open Source Forms (OSF) as a framework and a guide towards states of deep listening and connectedness. Founded in 2009 by Stephanie Skura as an &lsquo;open source&rsquo; system, OSF combines some of the intrinsic ideas and spirit of Skinner Releasing with the evolving practices of its teachers. Pallomina combines OSF with other somatic practices, emphasizing connections in the body, between participants, and with the environment. The class guides participants through different states of consciousness in a mainly improvisational setting, using imagery and hands-on partner studies as powerful tools for transformation.

For folks attending a SINGLE CLASSES, they will need to select the event date that corresponds to the date of class they want to take. They will then only receive a reminder email ONCE (on the morning of their class).

A MOONHORSE DANCE THEATRE WINE TASTING EVENT! Join MDT Artistic Director Allison Cummings, and Brodie Stevenson as they pair world-class wines with delectable dance (select pieces from previous O&amp;R productions). Warming up properly is very important to me to move with freedom and vigour as the class goes on while staying safe. I believe in dancing in partnership with music, to be inspired, and maybe challenged at times, in a good way! I teach a centre technique class, with roots in ballet and various modern styles. Most importantly, I always strive to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and respectful, and I am known to always give a well-thought-out class that makes people work hard, DANCE, and have a lot of fun (or so the participants who take my classes each week tell me!!!).

Older &amp; Reckless, Moonhorse Dance Theatre&rsquo;s&nbsp;acclaimed series returns&hellip; a little different this time. Two weekends of performances taking place at The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance. This ticket is for Friday, November 6th at 8pm. This year&#39;s production features three dance works created and performed by luminary dance artists.&nbsp;The works, curated by Artistic Director Allison Cummings,&nbsp;seek to redefine destructive assumptions about age and dance ability; and celebrate artists over 45 who continuously take risks, ask pertinent questions and dig deep into nuance.&nbsp; The program includes two solos by acclaimed dance artists Norma Araiza,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Viv Moore,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Moonhorse Dance Theatre&rsquo;s interdisciplinary exchange residency,&nbsp;Crossing the Streams,&nbsp;returns with a new collaboration by creative forces Yuichiro Inoue&nbsp;(dancer)&nbsp;and Sean Dixon&nbsp;(writer). The program also features a new dance created by Bill Coleman&nbsp;for this year&rsquo;s&nbsp;Older &amp; Reckless Community Performance Project, featuring 26 mature dance enthusiasts divided into two separate casts. CPP is generously sponsored by&nbsp;Tamara Bernstein, through the Zita and Mark Bernstein Family Foundation. Open to our community at large - both professional and non professional movers. They&rsquo;ll integrate elements from their classes &ndash; choreographed phrases, improvisation, spatial and sensorial awareness, dynamic physicality and imagination &ndash; while riffing off each other with their signature playful banter. And they&rsquo;ll have awesome music to boot! WORKSHOP WITH BEE:In this workshop we will use Open Source Forms (OSF) as a framework and a guide towards states of deep listening and connectedness. Combining OSF with other somatic practices we will emphasize connections in the body, between participants and with the environment. We will then use this somatic work as a portal to creative practice, making and shaping dance work through improvisation, score making and choreography.
